Green Bay Packers at Detroit Lions - Lions +4
Sunday @ 1:00 PM

I have to start by saying this would definitely classify as a "hold your nose" type of pick.  You're relying on the worst team in the league and I imagine that this will come down to the end for a cover.  However, I think there's some value here.  Packers coach Matt LaFleur stated that he wanted to play his starters in this game to keep them sharp, a meaningless one for Green Bay with them already clinching the number one seed in the NFC.  I see that as more of a bluff than anything else.  Even if star quarterback Aaron Rodgers does play, I don't see it being for very long.  Therefore, I'm expecting a lot of backup Jordan Love, who looked really bad in the only other game he played this year.

So not only will the Lions get to face a lot of backups, but they are at home in a game against one of their biggest rivals.  Lions coach Dan Campbell is a prideful man and will undoubtedly have his guys fired up for this game.  They might only have two wins on the season but I think they can keep this one close if everything plays out like I anticipate it will.

San Francisco 49ers at Los Angeles Rams - 49ers +3 1H
Sunday @ 4:25 PM

Week 18 is always a crazy one, so I got a little creative with this one.  Now, I do want to clarify that both of these teams have something to play for in this game.  The Rams have clinched a playoff spot already, but can clinch their division with a win.  The 49ers get into the playoffs with a win.  So I have the motivational edge in San Francisco's favor with their playoff lives on the line.

As for picking on the first half only here, I saw a stat earlier this week from NFL analytics expert Warren Sharp that really caught my attention.  In the Rams' last ten games, they've held the lead at halftime in only four of them.  And three of those were against Jacksonville, Detroit and Houston, the three worst teams in the league.  With the Rams statistically being slow starters and the expectation of the 49ers coming out of the gate hot with their backs against the wall, I think the 49ers getting three points in the first half is a great spot.

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Baltimore Ravens - ML +165
Sunday @ 1 PM

Neither team controls their own destiny.  The Steelers require a win and a Colts loss to the Jaguars, and the Ravens require a win and even more help.  From what we know right now, this is Ben Roethlisberger's last career game.  Big Ben, the most tenured quarterback to play with one team ever.  I have to pick him to win in his last game.  Period.

We saw what that little extra motivation did last week.  I think it rolls over into this one, even on the road.

#1 Alabama vs #3 Georgia - Over 52
Monday @ 8 PM

I'm going to be honest.  I am terribly uninterested in this game.  I don't care to watch two SEC teams that faced off a few short weeks ago play again in a game that won't end until after midnight on a Monday.  I also am so tired of Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide.  I simply don't care.  It's not jealousy, it's just the nature of college football's postseason.  It's boring.

However, because these teams just played, I think we can take advantage of that.  The final in the SEC Championship was 41-24.  That's 65 points.  While I do believe Georgia will make some adjustments defensively, so will Alabama offensively.  So even if I don't think Georgia will quite give up 41 again, I do think 52 is too low for teams with extremely talented offenses, including the Heisman winner.  Also, one defensive or special teams touchdown and this Over hits easily.
